- Contestant: Zachariah Coates / @ZachCoates Assessor: Tristan McGuire / @Draconic_Cowboy Tier: Search For A Star Congrats on completing your project! This is a really strong project and I hope you are proud of what you have achieved! It is also great to see that you are eager to seek feedback and have an eagerness to improve your work and continue to learn. These are much needed skills in a studio environment. Things that went well: ✧ Lots of high level skills showcased. ✧ Use of rigging and particle effects go above and beyond expectations. ✧Great iteration and development of the model. ✧ Lots of research. ✧ Detailed documentation. Things to consider next time: ✧ It’s understandable why you did the hair in Zbrush this time around, but next time definitely make sure to learn Xgen for this process as that is what is industry standard for creating the hair strands to be baked onto your cards. ✧ The quadrangulated topology that MD creates is not typical to use as your final game ready topology. Next time, look into methods of adapting MD sims to have fully game ready topology. ✧ Great start to the UVs, but there are a few additional areas that would have benefitted from being straightened. I hope this feedback proves useful and will help you with future projects and building your portfolio. You can find me on the social medias in the link below. Feel free to reach out in the future. All the best! https://draconic-cowboy.carrd.co/ - Tristan, Character Artist at Airship Interactive.
