  • Hi Eleanor, A good beginning of your journey in 3d art. I would highly recommend trying zsphere modelling in zbrush first to block out, and building the model in zbrush and therefore only using 3ds max for the retopology. I also recommend buying a anatomy statue. 3d total sell them quite cheap. Adam
  • Great job finishing this project! This is a really fun character and the research and development stage is very successful. There are lots of good reference images and you have developed a solid piece of concept art to work from. Some feedback: ∘ some extra research of similar 3d art would help the direction of the piece and act as a quality bar. you could also look at dolls and chibi art for body shape reference. Experiment with different head to body ratios. ∘ combine the UVs into the same UV tile or one tile for clothing and accessories and one for face, body and hair. pack the UVs closer together and fill the tile to get as much resolution from each as you can ∘ the polycount should be a fair bit lower, I would aim for about 20k-50k tris for the whole character. Retopologising by hand would be beneficial to have more control over the edge loops. Go on ArtStation and take a look at the topology of other stylised characters, try to copy the edge flows ∘ some more annotation throughout would help me be able to give more feedback on specific techniques used Overall this was a fun and creative project!
