  • There's some successful research and development in this project using a range of references, and the concept art is really strong. The sculpt proportions are looking good so far! Some feedback: ∘ it would be good to see some 3d art references as well to understand the style goal and to act as a quality bar ∘ it's a great touch doing a character turnaround to work from. The colour scheme is well considered ∘ the proportions of your character sculpt look good so far. This project would benefit from using marvelous designer to create the clothes with Good job on the project so far! i see lots of good potential, keep it up 🙂 Feel free to reach out with any questions ~ Sasha Gallie, Character Artist at Double Eleven https://www.artstation.com/sashagallie
  • I understand this is an unfinished project so I will focus on giving feedback on what you’ve got so far. - Documentation is very brief, ideally you want to show your process with some detail for each step of production. In your case, you explained the sculpting process to some extent but you need to provide images within the documentation (preferably PowerPoint) to support your explanations/observations of your project. - In terms of anatomy I recommend trying to sculpt characters closer to reality first, then move to stylised characters. One book I highly recommend is Anatomy for Sculptors (https://anatomy4sculptors.com/understanding-the-human-figure/). Also, don’t forget to practise anatomy through drawing since a lot of the observations you make in 2D can easily be transferred to 3D. For this I highly recommend drawing quick poses (1-2 min) which force you to find the main lines of action and learn how dynamic the human body is. Also a good website for sculpting and drawing reference is: https://line-of-action.com/ Overall, you seem to have a good eye for concepting but you need to practise transferring your 2D ideas into 3D. At this stage, don’t focus on anything related to game ready assets and aspects like topology, UVs etc. Just sculpt, learn your way around Zbrush, improve your anatomy and the way you sculpt clothes until you feel comfortable with the results.
