  • Pros: + Good concept development process, although it would have been nice to see some silhouettes and colour variations to see that you’ve explored your idea before sticking to something you like. + Textures fit well with the style, mood and your concept. + The extra effort put into the environment adds to the presentation. + Documentation is brief but presents the important technical aspects of pipeline. Cons: - Anatomy is ok, although at first glance, the pectorals are a bit too high and the connection with the deltoid is wrong. I still recommend practising anatomy both in 2D and 3D since it’s vital for every character artist. One book I highly recommend is Anatomy for Sculptors (https://anatomy4sculptors.com/understanding-the-human-figure/). Also, don’t forget to practise anatomy through drawing since a lot of the observations you make in 2D can easily be transferred to 3D. For this I highly recommend drawing quick poses (1-2 min) which force you to find the main lines of action and learn how dynamic the human body is. - The cloth folds don’t look believable, despite using Marvelous. I recommend not relying on MD for cloth sim and trying to sculpt folds by hand. I do understand the need if constrained by time, but I think you over complicated the folds this way. Having a hand sculpted base with messy topo in Zbrush, then retopologizing that manually and adding thickness in Zbrush (with dynamic thickness) + subdiv and details, would have saved you much more time and save the need to retopo a double sided mesh. Also, it’s good to exaggerate the cloth thickness slightly as it can lose visibility from a distance and look like a one sided mesh. - UV’s are a bit messy, try to separate the texture sets based on material properties if you plan to use realistic shaders (head/body/hair/clothing) and orient them correctly to have proper detail tiling. I can see some stretching of the detail map at the crotch area, make sure you check the stretching/compression in Maya, with the respective viewport mode. - Skin detail map is tiled too much, making the detail only visible from very up close. Also, you have no SSS with the skin shader which makes the skin very rough looking. - Shoes lose detail since the colour is too dark and even (no colour/roughness variation). - As you mentioned, the final renders are a bit too dark and make some of the details harder to see. Overall, you have a good set of technical and artistic fundamentals and managed to fulfil the brief, which is an achievement in itself. Keep practising and improving your fundamentals and you’ll see progress in no time. I can’t wait to see what you make next and I hope the feedback was helpful. • Hi Isabel, This is a beautiful piece, with a good technical process. Uv maps are packed well, decent amount, marvellous designer clothing is superb, and he general modelling is good. I recommend a anatomy statue. 3d total sell some good ones fairly cheap. The broad shoulders of the ref carried through to the final model which looks good, but pushes the character to be more stylised than it seems you wished by final renders. This would be solved by better more visual reference. Either way. I highly recommend some anatomy statues. I love the piece. Not many people can sculpt hair well and get away with it, and you have. I would be proud of this one. Adam
