  • Hi Paula, This is a good exploration of your concept art - you've done well to match the proportions and anatomy of the concept to the 3D model. The colours are working well together and I like the subtle gradients of colour in areas to give the skin a more lifelike quality. There's a few areas I'd like to give some suggestions for. Firstly I think the posing in the concept art is more successful and could be matched more to the model, for example the head tilt and the hand hanging limply downwards, which generates more of a sense of character and personality. Secondly, I think the clothing would benefit from having more areas of creases, especially in areas such as where it would pinch more around the nose/waist ect. Also at the moment the dress is very tight to the body, however in the concept it is more loose and hangs off the body more. I also think different lighting could be explored in the renders - Direct overhead lighting for example could be used to enhance the creepiness of the character and stops the model from looking too flat. Well done on your submission and I hope this feedback is helpful :)
  • I understand this is an unfinished project so I will focus on giving feedback on what you’ve got so far. - Very good concept development process with a focus on silhouettes and shape language. - The documentation should have your written thoughts and explanations on the project, images are not enough. It doesn’t matter what stage you got to with the character, you should think of it as a journal where you write after each step or discovery you make. This can serve as reference in the future and it serves the purpose of a guide for your project. - Despite not taking the character through the whole pipeline, you have a nice base and I recommend you revise the project and finish it. The style you went for and the idea itself has a pretty but creepy feel to it which gives potential to the project. - Improvements can be made on the cloth/folds sculpting. The dress seems like it moulds to the body which is not the material quality you want, unless it is made of latex or rubber.
