  • Contestant: Nicholas Evens / @Pepzero Assessor: Tristan McGuire / @draconic_cowboy Tier: RS Congrats on completing your project! Things that went well: ✧ Really nice idea. ✧ Well done for trying to use Marvelous, even as a complete beginner. ✧ Great to see rigging skills! This goes above and beyond the responsibilities of a character artist, but is a very handy skill. Things to consider next time: ✧ When beginning the sculpt, try starting with a much lower poly model. Start by establishing only the largest forms, and then move into increasing levels of detail. ✧ The ear is very wobbly and undefined. Next time, have more confidence in your choices and create bold, clean forms. Look at how clean the forms are in your main inspiration image. ✧ When doing retopology, aim for the quads to be nice and evenly spaced. Avoid areas where the loops are close together for no reason, or where the loops are jagged. As you are in the Rising Star tier, I hope thnis feedback can be used to inform how you approach future university projects and I would love to see you take part in the competition again next year! You can find me on the social medias in the link below. Feel free to reach out in the future. All the best! https://draconic-cowboy.carrd.co/ - Tristan, Deputy Senior Character Artist at Airship Interactive.
