  • It's a shame this didn't really go anywhere as it was looking promising. One thing to check - your high poly models till looked quite low poly (eg. visibly faceted edges on the mushrooms) and it wasn't clear whether this was a stylistic choice or something that went awry in the sculpting process.
  • Beetle Blade As you mentioned the scene wasn't finished however your planning and current blockout have potential should you wish to finish it. Moving onto feedback, looking at your current sculpts something to consider as you progress with the models is to break up the straight line in the silhouette. The concept has exaggerated and quirky shapes and curves so ensure you capture this in your scene. A change you have made that works well for you is your time of day. It allows you to bring some nice lighting to the scene to guide the eye. With this lighting, however, be careful you don't overpower the focal point of the scene (the house and armour/weapon rack). An idea might be to adjust the lamps so they are focused around the path, house and racks. With either spill light or other smaller light sources bringing a more subtle glow to the secondary areas. You've got a solid base to build on to achieve a good scene. Some advice would be even with no time limit I would recommend still just making the top area to begin with to keep the scope manageable. You can always add to it later. Good start to a scene to build upon which could become a portfolio piece. Finally the scores are a reflection of its incomplete state and for scoring fairly against complete projects and not a reflection on the artist's creativity or skill
