  • First of all, this is an amazingly addictive game! You should be proud! There’s a lot of complex things going on in your game. I definitely feel there is some knowledgeable programming here, like BSP generation for the building & light culling, managing ALL of that specific dialogue (filtering out who accepts what answers etc) so I don’t feel I could ever put you lower than 5 Programming/Gameplay implementation wise especially not for undergraduate mid-level! I could not find any bugs either. Itch page is well presented, documentation mentions shows use of source control, icons/banners etc are of high quality. There is a good understanding of production tools like Trello which is great to see! It appears you’re also using a bunch of sound. Docs seem of a professional standard and demonstrate knowledge that you know what you are doing and explain the programming features well. In terms of what i’d recommend/how you would go forth in improving this: You need a bit more guidance in terms of tutorial here, I was maybe a bit confused in the first minute as to what was going on but quickly after it passed, I could figure the rest of the game out. I feel because you maybe didn’t put in enough tutorial/accessibility stuff I almost couldn’t give full stars for features. You kind of don’t need a tutorial as the concept kinda explains what you should be doing (talking to villagers) but maybe some forced interaction w/ an NPC to begin along with the right click prompt would have further made the game more easy to pick up. You do present the controls to the player however which is honestly probably ok for a game made this quickly. Controller support would have been odd for this game in all fairness. Consequences for threatening people as your main way to gain influence possibly? Good job and thanks for letting me play this gem! Stuart Pentelow, d3t.
  • This was really impressive, you should be very proud of what you've made. Some general comments: - For some people the number of people you have to talk to and the size of the map could be quite daunting. A way to improve this could be to change it to level system, i.e. Level 1= 2 opponents, 10 people, 2 seasons, Level 2= 3 opponents, 30 people, 3 seasons, Level 3 = 4 opponents, 60 people, 4 seasons. - There's not much reason to keep replaying your game. Some fixes could be the above point, or add a High Score system: "You got X votes, but spent X gold, your final score is X" - I really like the different actions you have talking to people, I'd like to see this go a bit further: i.e. threatening someone, then flattering them could have a negative effect. Like I said though, this is really impressive and you should be very proud of what you've accomplished.
  • This is a solid submission. A great idea, I never played anything similar and I love gaming. So creativity up. The mechanics are easy and intuitive. I wish the UX about characters would be a little easier, like not moving so much around, I can't know who is who. Great documentation, I also use Trello for this type of projects.

Really impressed by the procedural generation of the level! The villages it creates are quite charming to look at.
