  • This was very impressive, you should be very proud of what you made, visually and creatively its stunning, amazing job! Some general notes: - In your plan, make sure you include a window for QA after production/development is complete. Its great to do QA as you go, but there will be some bugs that only appear once everything is done, so its good to make sure you have time for that at the end. - In gameplay, we have something called the 3C's (Character, Controls, Camera), these are very important in games as if they're not right, the character can feel 'slug'gish (bug pun intended), or floaty. Whilst your game looks visually amazing, the character and controls just don't feel right and it can be very difficult to move the character around the level. - With puzzles, it can always be difficult to balance them and make sure they're understandable. An easy win for this can be to have an optional Hint system telling the player what to do. Like I said, this was very impressive, and you should be very proud of what you've made.
  • The game worked well as a platformer and the visual style was perfectly executed. I also liked the level progression, switching camera angles etc. Unfortunately, the game did not feature any menus/UI so it was difficult to score points on that category. At some point it seems that there is a set of colliders in place that prevented me from moving past a certain point which looked like a bug (although it wasn't). The rest of the game (the animations, ambience, level loading and unloading etc) seemed to work very well and it looked like a very polished demo.

Whelp, I seem to have found a way around it. With a little leeway and incline it is possible to fly directly to the ledge and skip the bugged platforms. Now, as mentioned in my previous comment, the game has some bugs ;))))))), nah seriously, it needs a little tweaking here and there. I had to restart the game four times in total. Once when I exited the map, a second time when the platforms bugged, a third time as it is very hard to climb the "ladder" and you may not realize that is the next objective. The lever is out of sight and the button really makes it seems like it is for opening the door that later gives you access to them camera module. I assumed it was bugged, and restarted, only to randomly realize that the "ladder" actually is climbable and that there is a lever above the door. Then I had to restart a fourth time, as I assumed the ending was bugged too. I now assume that the ending is the AI realizing the you are just a bug, and that he is all alone. I have waited for quite a while and ran all over the map (back to the beginning and back to the AI), but nothing changed. If this is indeed the ending, it would be quite nice with a stronger indication of such, so that you do not go explore for a nonexistent ending for a while.

These issues aside, the game was great. Great art-style and short, yet very impressive, sad and funny little story! Though nothing much or special was going on with the audio, it was quite nice and very much fitting! The atmosphere was great and if not for the struggles and restarting, it is a very immersive game! As far as I can see (I have only checked out the other games by their descriptions and images), this is the best game of the Games Programming Challenge 2021. Great work!
