  • I know it can be tough to manage a project like this whilst dealing with your University work at the same time. My recommendation would be to be honest with how much time you'll be able to spend on the project, and aim to make a small polished vertical slice of a game (that way you can talk about what features you'd want to add in the future). This slice would represent the core loop of the game: menu -> gameplay -> win screen -> menu. Then when that is complete and you have time remaining, you can look at adding extra features (tutorial, objectives, etc.) The key thing is focusing on that polished slice.
  • Despite being unpolished I can say that I believe that the author has created successfully some of the mechanics that are archetypical to this type of game. I played it a couple of times and I did not find any significative bugs. UX needs polishing and game mechanics are obviously incomplete. The concept is solid but it lacks of creativity, and UX needs addressing from small things like letting the user to skip the presentation.
