- I know it can be tough to balance a project like this with your other University work. My recommendation would be, at the start, be honest about how much time you'll have to spend on the project, then work out what you can make in that time. What you make should be a polished vertical slice of your final game idea, and it should show off the expected flow for your game: Main Menu -> Gameplay -> Win screen -> Main Menu. The time management is important, because when you're working on it, if you're short on time you can scrap features and if you have extra time, you can look at some of the "nice to have" features which add to your slice. Also make sure you have time allocated at the end for bug fixing and play testing. In terms of specifics for this game: - Balancing is a very difficult thing to get right in a game. An easy win for a project like this would be to have a selection screen for the Player where they can choose Easy, Medium, Hard. These then pull levers in your game (number of enemies, enemy damage, etc.) - Look at adding more intelligence to your AI. At the moment they just all run towards the player, try different states for them (idle, chasing, attacking) and give them line of sight to switch between them.
