  • I know it can be tough to balance a project like this with everything else, but the important thing is to be honest with yourself about how much time you actually have to spend on the project, and aim to make something in that time. Your goal should be to make a polished vertical slice of what your final game would be (not the entire thing). If you're short on time, show off the core concept of the game, and talk about what features you could add (if you end up with more time remaining at the end, then you can look at them). If then whilst you're working on the project you find yourself short on time, don't be afraid to reevaluate your plan and tasks, and cut things that might not be necessary. I think you had a cool idea for your game, but I think next time, you just need to slow down at the beginning, and make a more detailed plan.
