- A quite lovely sculpt! Horses are not that easy to make and you pulled it off well, I wish it was a finished piece, and you had supporting documentation, but your well on the way to finish your first character! Keep it up!
- I think you maybe bit off a bit more than you could chew for this challenge. I highly recommend sticking within your limits to finish a project within a given deadline, and if you finish ahead of schedule, use that time to further polish the asset or character to really make it shine. For the character, I would spend a lot more time on the base anatomy, make sure that it is believable, even if it's meant to be a stylized or fantasy character. Look at other mediums or artists to see what they've done for their stylized work, and build off of that work. It's ok to copy when learning, since that's the entire point, to learn how the pros did it, then once you figure that out, go off and do your own thing with solid foundational knowledge. For the horse, first off I wouldn't have recommended making it for the challenge due to the limited time, but if you continue this project, create it standing straight up in a natural resting position, then modify it later when posing it. Hair should be created separately with haircards, then added on top. The horse is also super tiny compared to the character, horses are huge animals, so make sure to scale things correctly. Make sure to model the teeth, mouth bag, proper eyes as separate models.
- No documentation provided and unable to open the UE4 file, so i'm sorry if it's difficult to provide much critique! Obviously the work is unfinished so I'll just comment on the sculpt. I appreciate the attempt to pose the charatcer and I like the pose you've chosen - it's quite dynamic and shows what the character would be doing. However I also like to see a T-Pose as it shows the anatomy off better. From what I can tell the proportions are all fairly accurate however not muich attention has been given to form definition. This is quite evident in the face. There's a lot of detail which is surface level rather than form level. For example the cheekbones look as if they are placed on the side of her head, rather than forming the skull which has skin over it. You can also see the jawbone has a harsh line, however it doesn't cut in at the neck it just slopes down. I think the design is really nice and gets across the character well. Perhaps include more little items, such as trinkets hanging off the belt or layers to the tunic to get some more detail in there? Your horse sculpt seems quite nice too based on what I can see! Lots of good muscle definition.
