[EDIT 2: The bundle itself is now live at https://itch.io/b/988/the-shorter-games-with-worse-graphics-bundle-round-2 ; thank you all for your participation!]
[EDIT 1: There was a lot more interest than expected so while submissions are technically open right now it's more of an "in case anybody cancels" situation", so sorry and thanks for your interest!]
Seeing all the sentiments against AAA and how now is a good time to support studios that refuse to be a part of that culture I think it's a great time to see people put their money where their mouth is. This isn't a jam where there's a "make X in 48 hours" or anything. This is really a place to submit any game you have that you think would work well in a coop bundle with other indies. I've run this sort of bundle before which you can check out here.
I don't have any idea how many submissions there will be, and it only lets you put integers for the percentages of revenue distribution, so unless something like exactly 20 people submit, I'm going to have to do some accepting & rejecting. So here's what I'm looking for:
-No nazi or prejudiced shit
-Nothing that had a proper publishing deal; I want eyes on stuff people don't know much about
-Commercial games over free; I want indies who are trying to make it here for the long haul to get some copies MOVED
-No sex games please; it's fine if your game has adult theming, but the honest reason for no sex stuff is I'm ace as hell and I don't want to have to vet that stuff or have any conversations regarding it.
-I don't care if the game is good, how pretty it is, or how long it is. I do ask that it's something that is complete (updates and bug fixes happen, but the core experience needs to be there) and that you're proud of, in one way or another.
-You can submit multiple games, but you'll get the same revenue split as someone who submits one.
-You can submit tabletop games, video games, whatever; just as long as someone somewhere can in fact call what you submit a game, throw it in here.
Submissions will stop being accepted at the end of the jam, Aug. 1st at midnight PDT. After that, I'll be going through the games and deciding what will be accepted. Regardless of submission count, I should be done by the 3rd, at which point I'll put the bundle together and start contacting people (which is why an email address is required with submissions; it's set to private so only I'll see it). I have to have everyone approve the bundle before it can start, so I hope to have it up and running by the 7th, but hopefully sooner.
The bundle will be on sale for $20, will have 20 or 25 developers, with an even revenue split between all participants. Submitting will prompt you to put in your email address and Twitter handle. Email is required for communicating about the bundle; twitter handle is not required but is helpful for an alternate communication channel and for when I put threads about the games together on there.
