January 22nd (Sunday, 11 pm WAT) - End date & Submissions

January 24th (Tuesday, 10 am WAT) – Results

FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Make games from any genre of your choice
  • Use African themed assets for the jam to apply the theme of the game jam
  • Don’t worry about IP infringement at this point, your games are for non-commercial use
  • Pitch your game idea using the community tab on itch.io if you’re looking for people to join your team
  • Pitch your skills if you don’t have a game idea to let others know you’re available to work on other people's projects
  • You can also work solo if that’s your preference
  • Plan your deliverables on a day to day and divide tasks amongst yourselves if you’re working on as a team
  • Use free resources for art and UI if you don’t have custom art.
  • Keep your game minimal, you only have 5 days, so try not to overdo it
  • If you’re pitching your game, don’t worry about people stealing your idea, they won’t, and if they do, they probably can’t execute it as well as you
  • Use the community tab to ask general questions to the team, we’ll try to respond in quick time
  • The stemacademy team will not be helping you solve any issues during the game jam, you’re expected to work independently
  • It’s not a test or a competition, it’s a chance for you to see how far you’ve come, so do enjoy it and try to complete your game project, that’s already a huge success on your part
  • Make new friends and build something you’ll be proud of

 Have fun and good luck
