  • This is an interesting take on AI testing, and I liked the circular nature of the story.

I would suggest dropping the gradient in the background, but that's about my only suggestion. Nicely done!

Fun fact about this piece: the name "Doctor Stork" has a second, hidden origin, on top of the first "stork" reference you might think of.  To find the second one, look into the meaning behind the name of the man who first coined our term for the "little slaves" mentioned at the end of the story.

I'd be very happy to see if anyone manages to find both origins for the good doctor's name!

It's impressive to write a genuinely effective sci-fi twist in under 1000 words! Fun to read and replay.

"Genuinely effective" are my two new favourite words. You are too kind.

The story has a great concept and is fun to play, but many endings did not seem to have a return to beginning option? I could just press the refresh button on my browser, though I do wonder if it was not implemented or it's my browser again. It seems that only the restart ending has a restart "button", and all the deletion endings have no built-in way to restart. I personally would have preferred that they both have a built-in restart, just with different flavour text.

Glad you enjoyed the story! I'll keep the built-in refresh button in mind for future IF works, but I'll have to pirate some code for it somewhere. I speak a good few languages, but CSS ain't one of 'em.
