What you already know (from the Google Form through which you signed up) :
- This is going to be a one-page ttrpg.
- Please do not use any game system you do not have the rights to/license for.
- Please be kind - to yourself and others participating.
If you're reading this on 22nd Dec 2023, here's what you need to think about/do first:
- Roll a d10. Multiply the result by 100. This gives you the 'number of years'.
- Roll a d4.
- If you rolled 1 or 2, subtract the 'number of years' from Step 1 from 2024. That's when your game is set.
- If you rolled a 3 or a 4, add the 'number of years' from Step 1 from 2024. That's when your game is set.
- Roll a d6.
- If the result is odd, you'll be setting this game in a version of a place you've never visited.
- If the result is even, you'll be setting the game in a version of a place you've lived.
Note : you may interpret the instructions however you like. i.e. The past needn't be set in this reality. 'a place you've lived' can be an apartment building, a city, a country, a mindset, etc.
If you're reading this post-29th December 2023,
Some clarifications we were asked for, so everyone's on the same page (ha!) :
- You can use both sides of the page.
- You can't include cards unless they somehow fit on that page :)
- Same with character sheets - unless the player can use the one-pager to note down any details within the two sides of the page, no additional sheets, please!
The Twist :
Here's a set of elements/characteristics to incorporate into your game. Please note : you may roll for any of the options but you must incorporate at least one option:
- Option 1: Roll a d4
- All beings (including your characters) in your game will henceforth be : on a (1) frogs (b) horses (c) celestial beings (open to interpretation) (d) inanimate objects
- Option 2: Roll a d6
- Your key demographic for this game is now : on a (1,3,5) college students; (2,4,6) grandparents/senior citizens [Note - this is also open to interpretation]
- Option 3 : Roll a d20
- Your maximum number of players must now be at least: the result of your roll divided by 2
- Option 4 : Roll a d6. On a
- 1, at some point on your one-page game, you must mention unicorns.
- 2, your introductory paragraph/ min 2 lines must rhyme.
- 3, at some point on your one-page game, you must make reference to art of some kind
- 4, in some way, at some point in the game, the turn order must be based on something ridiculous
- 5, your final game must be black & white.
- 6, your game must include the word 'whomst' at some point.
- Option 5: Roll a d20. On an even result, you now have the option to add a character sheet.
