Swap Jam is a bi-monthly reoccurring jam aimed at creating a fun opportunity for participants to develop their skills, meet new collaborators, and foster a beginner friendly and inclusive environment to learn and share! ๐ฉต The catch is that everyone contributes 3 optional themes to go alongside a main theme given by us! When the jam starts, these optional themes will be sent to other participants to make use of!
Organised by efeyukselcomposer and cyber_ghostie!
Use this form to submit 3 optional theme ideas: CLICK ME!!
Games that are browser playable will be played on Stream (if you want)!
The jam's theme is WAVES ๐๐๐! Feel free to interpret this theme however you see fit. It doesn't need to be a game about water waves, think outside of the box!
Once the submission period starts, we will send your team your secondary themes that were created by other participants! These will be optional but we'd recommend you try to include at least one.
Sexually explicit material is not allowed in this jam. Offensive and discriminatory games are also not allowed.
Slight blood and gore, adult topics, and explicit language are fine. Just make sure to mention this at the top of your game page/the start of your game.
If your game goes against Twitch TOS we will not be able to stream it.
Nope! Use whatever you need as long as your game can be played in browser and/or Windows and macOS. We'd definitely recommend making your game browser playable if you can!
You can use asset packs, etc. as long as you have the correct rights and credit the creators appropriately. Use of generative AI is not allowed.
Nope! But we recommend keeping your team somewhat small to help keep communication simple.
As long as they were all started during the jam period! We'd recommend spending your time polishing one game instead of trying to make multiple though.
No. Please only submit games that were started during the jam period. It's ok to reuse basic code from other projects though (stuff like player movement script, etc).
Sure! As long as it wasn't started before this jam and follows this ones theme(s)!
Sure! Even if your game isn't perfect it's definitely worth submitting!
Once the submission period has ended, everyone who has submitted a game, or is credited as a contributor on the game's page will be able to vote on other entries. There will be 5 rating categories: Enjoyment, Innovation, Visuals, Sound, Use of Theme.
Once the rating period is over, you will be able to see where your game placed in each category and overall.
The winner(s) will receive a special role in the Discord server!
You can find people to team up with here! Or chat to other jam participants about your progress, or whatever you want! :D
