Heya! I'm hosting this jam mainly for myself to work on little projects after a big project with a focus on visuals, but I thought it might be fun to open it up to other people as well! Feel free to make a text-based game, visual novel, or anything else!
-Violet
Theme:
"He took up his guitar and played several mournful but sweet airs, more sweet and mournful than I had ever heard him before." -Mary Shelly, Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, pg 158
Rules
- Whatever you make should be solo developed.
- Using pre-existing assets is allowed, but please credit/link any assets you use that you did not make.
- AI art or writing is not allowed.
- Please include content warnings/trigger warnings with your submission if applicable.
Guidelines/Tips
- A theme will be announced at the start of the jam. This theme will take the form of a quote picked from a randomly generated page number from a selected public domain book. Feel free to interpret the theme in anyway you choose.
- Try making a game/experience that is writing forward rather than mechanics or visuals forward. I personally am an artist and a hobbyist programmer, so I'm using this jam to experiment with different ways of making games. I'm personally going to be using ink and its standalone engine Inky, as it's easy to learn and limited in scope but integrates with other engines once learned.
- If you are submitting a non-interactive experience, please submit as either a PDF, MP3, or MP4 file, whichever is most applicable.
