  • Judge review (sorry if I do a poor job of explaining my opinion): Gameplay: 2.5 Originality: 4 Fun: 3 ASCII Art: 3.5 Optional Themes: 1 Timeframe: 3.5 No One Can See You Here attempts to be a surreal game about exploring, but it fails at it. The game never gave me any sort of feeling that a surreal game is supposed to. I was never scared nor was I blown away by the story. The game’s story fails at the entire point of the surreal genre. A surreal (not sure if this is the right word for the genre I’m thinking of) game either gives you a weird story that can eventually be pieced together with hard work or gives you a story that seems weird at first but once you look into it you realize it might resemble something. Sometimes these types of games are there to show awareness for something, like depression (When The Darkness Comes does this well) or politics or something. NOCSYH does none of this. It has a weird and impossible story for the sake of having a weird and impossible story. Also, capitalization and grammar were not the best in this game. This is a huge issue because it pulls you out of the experience. Also also, the game is very buggy. Most buttons bring you to places they shouldn’t. For example, a button that says it’ll bring you to the bathroom brings you to hell. There seems to be an emphasis on bathrooms and stalls in this game in some parts and showing them as hellish like things. The only meaning I can get out of this is maybe the story is trying to say something about rape, possibly in a bathroom. (Sorry if that’s dark, but it’s the only thing that I can get out of this abundance of bathrooms.) Not sure if I’m getting my point across here because I’m trying to not let this review get too long. There are other things wrong with the game but they are smaller problems so I won’t mention them.
