Welcome to the Textile Sustainability Game Jam!

Are you passionate about sustainability and gaming? Join us in exploring innovative ways to promote textile sustainability through games! This Game Jam invites you to craft engaging, educational, and impactful games—digital or analog—that inspire action and awareness around the global textile industry and local textile economies.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking games that creatively address themes related to textile sustainability. Your game might explore one or more of the following topics, or ones that we haven't thought of yet!

  • Upcycling and Repurposing: The creative use of older textiles to reduce waste.
  • Fast Fashion: Highlighting the environmental and social impact of fast fashion.
  • Working Conditions: Exploring the lives and challenges of textile workers worldwide.
  • Making and Mending: Celebrating craftsmanship and the art of repair.
  • Textile Waste: Raising awareness about the growing problem of discarded clothing and solutions for minimizing waste.
  • Historical or Futuristic Narratives: Telling stories that reflect the past, present, or imagined futures of textile production.

Games can take any format—video games, tabletop role-playing games, board games, card games, or interactive experiences. They can be educational, entertaining, thought-provoking, or all three!

Why Participate?

  • Showcase Your Creativity: Share your unique perspective on textile sustainability with a broader audience.
  • Make an Impact: Use the power of games to spark conversations and inspire real-world change.
  • Learn and Connect: Collaborate with other developers, artists, and sustainability advocates. Solo entries are fine. We hope to actively engage as submissions come in or questions are asked.

Submission Guidelines

  • Format: Your game should be playable (even if in prototype form) and include a brief description of how it relates to textile sustainability.
  • Platforms: Submissions may include links to digital games or downloadable files for print-and-play analog games.
  • Licensing: Ensure that your game adheres to ethical practices, including proper attribution for assets used.
  • Safety Tools: If applicable, particularly with games about hard topics like textile worker conditions, encourage the use of Safety Tools in your game.
  • NO bigotry, racism, homophobia, ableism, or other forms of hate speech: Any submission containing this will be removed from the jam.
  • NO use of AI generated content: Any submission found to use AI generated content will be removed from the jam.
