WINTER IS HERE

We are The Rolled Standard, a ttrpg actual-play podcast that is about to embark on a long-term arc into Mörk Borg with Cold & Deathless. The arc will air from Dec. 31st to March 25th. Check out our Mörk Borg Halloween one-shot on Spotify here for an example of our play-style.

It is winter in the Dying World and three hopeless scvm, Arthur Higgins, Dennis Watkins, and Melville Hugo Lesterborne are under the employ of master necromancer and critically-acclaimed author, Tethyk Norvus, and are continuously sent on assignments to retrieve various items of power from around the Dying World.

We are absolutely in awe of the number of third-party content creators out there and are huge fans of a lot of their work, so we wanna see what you got for us.

We need winter-themed, one-page, one-hour, one-shot standalone adventures to be linked into the overarching story. The winners of each of the four categories will be featured in their own episodes.

THE CRITERIA

1. MÖRK BORG

Submissions must be content for MÖRK BORG the TTRPG and not for other game systems. It must also include the 3rd party MÖRK BORG license text on your submission, ideally on an extra page, which can be found here. We wanna see cold, dark, and morbid, but not discriminatory, so no sexism, racism, or discriminatory content, period.

2. WINTER

Submissions must be set in the winter with the assumption that snow is covering the entirety of the Dying World. It doesn't have to necessarily be themed around that fact, but it definitely wouldn't hurt for the Coldest category. And by winter, we don't mean Christmas, just the bitterly cold brutality of an uncaring environment.

3. ONE PAGE

Submissions must be only one page, with the exception of a credit page for 3rd party licensing purposes. Submissions should be in A5 portrait or landscape format and contain 3-5 mm of bleed on all edges. Please keep text 8mm from page edges and gutters. Any content on more than the first page will either not be considered or be considered eligible for disqualification.

We will potentially go to print with this depending on the reception of the Jam. We would love to see everybody involved be compensated for what gets printed and will update this page as that situation develops.

4. ONE HOUR

Submission must be an adventure or dungeon or scenario that takes (give or take) an hour to play. This will be considered with a bit more leniency, but for the purposes of the Jam it only makes sense to give it this criterion.

COLDEST

How bitterly cold can the Dying World get in the dead of winter?

MOST DEATHLESS

The PCs are cursed with Deathlessness. This means that they cannot die as long as the fire of their soul still burns. They can spend some of their "Soulfire" to be brought back from death with the Ritual of Deathlessness. But, if one's Soulfire dies, so do they.

This is a homebrew mechanic that we have created to make the characters in this arc have a little more of a chance at survival, as long as the players can manage it. But, with giving the players a bit of an edge, the world itself will be even more brutal than usual.

A little more insight as to what this means and how it works will be explained in the Zero episode of Cold and Deathless, that aired on December 31st. A link to the episode can be found here.

For this category, we're looking for something that really embraces and utilizes this Curse of Deathlessness. If you have any questions regarding this concept, feel free to contact us anywhere you find us. We'll definitely see it.

MOST "NORTHERN"

How "northern" does it feel? We as Minnesotans understand the parody of our accents (mostly true) and behaviors (mostly false, but a lot of truth in it) and we want to see how close to that you can get. Think "Fargo".

DARKEST

How deep into the darkest recesses of humanity's psyche can you get?
