This is a Jam dedicated to zines made in the Electric Zine Maker

Originally created by AlienMelon/Nathalie Lawhead (Creator of Tetramageddon games and BlueSuburbia!)

https://alienmelon.itch.io/electric-zine-maker

What is a zine?

"zines (pronounced zeen," short for "magazine.") are inexpensive handmade self-published books " Julia of Zine Crisis Mutual Assistance Group(https://zcmag.xyz/)

Zines originate in the 1970s with independent magazines for early fandom, women's health, uncensored mass communication and more. The art-form as been re popularized due to the centralization of media and information created by social media.

Which brings us to our next question,

What is the Electric Zine maker?

The Electric Zine Maker  is a free tool to help anyone, with any level of skill in writing, and design, create zines in a fun, escapist, and comforting space.

Developed by Nathalie Lawhead (Or AlienMelon) in a funky faux-Y2K coat of paint!

Think of It like MS paint on steroids.

With EZM, you can export directly to a print ready PDF  when you're ready.

Here his a collection of zines made with EZM:

Or check out all the zines made for previous jams:

Jam rules:

The only restriction is is your imagination (and not being an asshole, gush all you want about anything AS LONG AS IT IS NONPOLITICAL, the news is already screaming into our ears about the election and we don't to be reminded more, also please vote)

The theme is "Glass half empty, or half full?"

Zines can be of any length but must be submitted as a

PNG so physical copies can be printed, a PDF for digital readers, and optionally Jeremy Oduber's HTML template so PC users can read your Zine on your itch page https://jeremyoduber.itch.io/js-zine.

Please only submit ZINES,  and only zines made with in the jam time frame, so no random video games or zines made in 1979 found in between your couch cushions.

Please only submit 2 zines max per-person/group

If you want to submit 2 solo zines as well as 2 group zines, that's fine , I'm considering a group separate from the individuals that make up the group .

this is primarily an event for EZM but if you want to use a different tool or other tools to assist you that's chill, it's the art that matters, not the tools you use to make it.
