What is this jam about?

Welcome to The Jammin Jam! This jam is all about music! Unlike most jams where (if there is one) the theme is a word or a phrase, in the Jammin Jam the theme is actually a song!

When the song is revealed you will be able to download it. Study it carefully, and create a game centered around the song! You will have 48 hours to create your game, so time is of the essence! The purpose of this jam is to see who can create a game that best fits with the song provided.

Participation

Anyone can participate in this jam! Whether it be a beginner or a seasoned game-dev, you're all welcome to join!

You may work by yourself, or you can work in a team. Teams can come together on the Nova-Knight Discord Server

The jam will begin on Friday, July 24th at 15:00 EST

The submission period will end on Sunday, July 26th at 15:00 EST

The rating period will end on Sunday, August 2nd at 15:00 EST

What are the rules?

Like most jams there are some rule to this one.

• The theme song provided must be used for the central part of game-play. Other music is allowed, but make sure that the theme song is used for the overall playing experience.
• You may also remix the theme song to your hearts content. Just be sure not to change it too much, or else that could be considered cheating.
• No NSFW games! We want to keep this jam safe and fun for everyone.
• All engines are allowed!
• All assets are allowed as long as you have license for it and clearly state the right attribution in the game page.

Rating

The primary focus for this jam is to create a game that will fit well with the theme song provided. There will also be 3 other rating criteria to spice things up:

Fits With Music - How well does the game fit with the theme song provided?

Graphics - How good does the game look?

Design - How well designed is the game?

Innovation - How creative / unique was the game?
