This jam is now over. It ran from 2021-08-21 01:00:00 to 2021-08-24 01:00:00. View 4 entries

Oh still working on your main project? You've spent twice as long making your game than you originally intended? Oh, it's your third "main project"? Look, mate, you needa know what it feels like to finish a damn game. And if you've finished a game before, you probably needa refresh your memory. So here's the deal...

This is The Just Fucking Finish Jam. You begin making a game and then you JUST FUCKING FINISH MAKING IT.

BUT THIS WOULDN'T BE MUCH OF A JAM IF THERE WEREN'T SOME KINDA RESTRICTIONS!

  • Must be made using Unity + Playmaker in some capacity (judging splits into two categories: "Programmed Predominantly With Playmaker" and "Supplemented with Playmaker") Proof of use can be through either streaming the dev process or submitting screenshots of your FSMs.
  • Must be WebGL build. We want everyone to just be able to boot that shit up and play right in their browser.
  • Must be made in the 72 hour window
  • Open to everyone including individuals and teams
  • Any tools or libraries are allowed,
    • but you must Playmaker for at least roughly half of your main code base
  • Free to use any legal right to use 3rd party assets or assets you have created. (Games made "predominantly with Playmaker" may use other 3rd party tools, like Sensor Toolkit, Master Audio, etc.)
  • No offensive, discriminatory content
    • Use your own judgment, judges will have the discretion to include your game in the ranking or not
  • Theme is mandatory, even if you just have to bullshit your way through an explanation of how your game ties into it. C'mon, have some imagination.

The theme is "ILLUSION OF CHOICE"

Vote for the theme here: https://www.youtube.com/c/StephenScottDayGames/community

At the start of the jam, a theme will be chosen from the top 3.  Just kidding.

DON’T NOT FINISH THE GAME JAM BECAUSE YOU’RE STUCK ON HOW TO DO SOMETHING. OR EVEN WORSE, YOU DON’T EVEN SIGN UP FOR THE JAM BECAUSE YOU DON’T FEEL CONFIDENT ABOUT YOUR PLAYMAKER SKILLS.

TO HELP YOU TO JUST FUCKING FINISH MAKING YOUR GAME, WE HAVE ENLISTED THE GREATEST PLAYMAKER HEROES TO BE YOUR SUPPORT SQUAD.

Hop into one of the JFFJ PM Hotline rooms on Discord to get live one-on-one help from one of the squad members. Feel free to hang out in the Hotline room as we get to your turn or if you just want to learn and observe.

We will limit sessions to 35 minutes per question when there are others waiting to be helped. Be prepared to share your screen if you have a question. We are noob to veteran friendly - ask any basic questions to advance questions!

Join the Stephen Scott Day Games Discord Server to access live Playmaker help during the jam period.

JOIN DISCORD SERVER HERE. Hotline channels will become available when the jam begins.

Game jam participants will rate your game in these categories:
