What if animations steered game mechanics?

As my first attempt on making a game jam, I have decided to try out something different.

Animations are usually used for polish or storytelling in game development.

However,

What if they were used as game mechanics?

Using, you can make the 12 principles make a game that emphasizes: DESTRUCTION, with all sorts of uses and all sorts of effects!

  1. Squash and stretch
  2. Anticipation
  3. Staging
  4. Straight-ahead action and pose-to-pose
  5. Follow through and overlapping action
  6. Slow in and slow out
  7. Arc
  8. Secondary action
  9. Timing
  10. Exaggeration
  11. Solid drawing
  12. Appeal

It may look difficult at first, but the theme may bring about all kinds of ideas, from exploding enemies, to mining, or UI becoming destroyed (for any reason you may think of), or going through something that may have been or is being destroyed.

And remember, use the principles to push your design forward. Anticipation, squash and stretch and so much more could be used for game mechanics.

RULES:

No NSFW entries are allowed.

Avoid crunching. Shorter games are encouraged.

Avoid using copyrighted soundtracks. I may make a few videos on the gamejam.

Unique art is encouraged. Again, no NSFW material.

You can use pixel art, ascii art, voxels, squares, circles, optical illusions, legos, pictures, emojis, models, etc.

There are points for humor, a moral lesson, and the use of animation principles as well as mechanics and general art style of the games.
