I cheated by not taking a torch at the beginning and just went north. It let me see everything on the screen :)

Even so the location seemed tooooo large. There are lots of places of interest, though they barely contain any content. Sometimes it was hard to tell what is depicted on sprites. Is it a former medieval demesne of a some long forgotten duke?

Another thing is that I don't feel like the game suits the Jam's theme. Even if you call this cloudy thing  an alien I can't make myself feel like so. The game could be a great submission for a halloween jam :)

The sense of dread is palpable, especially with the special effects when the enemy is approaching. I also like the tree shadows--good use of Unity's experimental 2d lighting system.

I also enjoyed the incidental discoveries sprinkled around the map. These gave subtle hints as to the story. Also, the twisty paths are a good, thematic way to lead the player towards (potentially) significant locations.

The main drawback is that the map feels too large, especially since the pages and the enemy are the only interactable objects (that I was able to find, at least).
