This is such a neat idea that I'd love it if the window(s)—maybe simplified/ammended by a table like you and DonnieDynamo discussed—actually came with this and future iterations of the Tiny Tome in the form of something like a dust jacket or a sturdy book mark.
Can't wait to see what overlaying this onto all the rules in the final book does to their playability ^^
Thanks for sharing this neat resource to filter and augment the collection of games.
I know the variety of other projects makes specific examples of subversion impossible, but I'd be curious to see if offering themes / categories of subversion would work. Did you have any particular applications in mind when working on your entry?
Examples that come to mind (maybe some sort of random table):
the specific action I had in mind was “do the opposite of what the rules say”, but I wrote down “subvert” because it was terse, and left things open to interpretation.
I like the table idea! here’s a sketch of some ideas from off the top of my head:
I especially like #2! Things like "roll the dice and perform an action" become much more interesting when your friend has to take their best crack at doing the physical action of the rules!
