Takes a lot of time to complete, but when you do, you're left with a very detailed and fleshed-out character. Suitable for both writing and TTRPGs. Definitely give it a try
Becomes full of suspense very quickly. Easy to set up, and I like that you can set the difficulty. It can become hard really fast.
Really enjoyed this! The concept is fantastic, and I really love the mechanics (especially the way negative affection, plot and suspicion turn into other elements). It's well-written and easy to follow, and has gorgeous design.
It does leave nearly all the setting, world building and character creation in the players' hands, along with the conflict generation. I feel like this is fine for people who are already very invested in fake-marriage tropes and the genre this game is based on, but for someone like me who is a bit less intimately acquainted with that kind of story, I felt a little bit out-to-sea. I kind of wish I'd had a bit more guidance for creating my character and situation, and generating the conflict. And since so much of the plot is generated by the circumstances, if you don't choose a strong concept for the fake marriage to start out, the mechanics could potentially fall a bit flat. (This didn't happen in the game I played though.)
I'd guess most people playing this are already roleplayers and into court drama shenanigans, so Eyes on the Prize works beautifully in those circumstances. A really fun way to spend an evening, will definitely try rope a friend or three into playing again.
