Hi, Guilherme here from the channels Uniday Studio (portuguese) and Guilherme Teres (english) and I'm glad to announce that this weekend I'll be hosting a game jam for you all that have been following me somehow!

[NOTE: Yes, this Game Jam will have prizes!]

So let's make a Game!

It will be a 72 hour event where you (and your team, if you want to) will have to create an entire game based on a theme that will be announced when the even starts. That's the basics of any game jam, right? The rules are simple and I'll explain them bellow, but keep in mind that, since this is a community focused jam, you're asked to use a tool that we actually talk about in the channels. In other words, Blender, UPBGE, Cave Engine or custom Made Game Engine only.

Rules

The best way to explain the rules is with a simple FAQ:

Can I use premade assets? Yes! As long as you have the rights for it, go ahead and to it!
Can I use premade logic? You'll have to create the "main mechanic" during the jam period, otherwise, people would be able to just pick a previous made game and apply for the jam. But if your logic is not a main thing, like a menu button, then go for it!
Can I make a NSFW, political or sensitive game? No. Since I'd like to showcase some of the games in my social medias, keep them family friendly!
How many people does my team need to have? It's up to you. You can join it solo or with a big team, you decide!
How much time I'll have to make the game? 72 hours!
Does the jam have a prize for the winner? YES!, Check them below. I'll also showcase some of the games in my channels (42k subscribers).

Game Engine

As I said, since this is a community event, it makes sense to only allow the tools we use to talk about in the channels. So only 3 game engines will be allowed here:

Blender/UPBGE: The classic game engines we've been talking about for ages, of course! You can use any version you want to of Blender Game Engine and/or UPBGE. We'll also accept entries from Armory 3D.
Cave Engine: Don't know what's that? Here you go: [Watch the Name Reveal Trailer] It's a 3D, Desktop, python scripted game engine I'm making from scratch and releasing to the public. For this game jam, I'll work to release the next version (0.9.6) with tons of new features, so stay tuned for that!
Make your own: Don't want to use BGE or Cave and you love to write code? Then you're covered here! You can write your own engine during the event or use one you've already written. You can also not use an engine at all and create the game directly. Any languages are allowed, have fun. Also, frameworks like pygame and gunslingerare encouraged.
