USG (Unofficial Scratch GameJam) is a week-long, game development jam for both veteran game developers and new game developers.
This jam, however, has a twist to it. Unlike normal jams, where you use Unity or Unreal engine, you are required to create this project in the Scratch engine! This allows both experienced GameJam members and beginner coders to join forces and help one another.
At the end of the Jam, there will be a rating period that lasts 5 days. Your game will be rated on:
Game Design - How well you believe the game was made. User-friendliness - How easy it was to understand what to do .
Music - How fitting and well-done the music was. SFX - How good the sound effects were.
Idea / Creativity - How unique the idea and game mechanics where. Enjoyability - How enjoyable the game was.
Any games that do not follow these rules may be removed from the jam.
It is encouraged to work in development teams of 2 - 4, as it will allow you to meet new people, learn new things and make connections! Even if you chose to work solo, we encourage you to interact with the community still, post screenshots and give help when needed. It is also recommended, you make a dev-log, to share your experience with future possible participants.
