Weekend Assets & Tools Jam

In this jam, you only need to create a single game asset. You can also create a small asset pack or a game dev tool.

Theme

The theme will be announced on this page within a 24-hour window prior to the start of the jam.

The theme is frigid.

Rules

• Anyone can join

• Teams of any size (teams are kinda unusual for an asset jam though)

• Submissions can target a specific game engine, or be engine-agnostic

• Use as much or as little of your weekend as you like

• No NSFW

• You can use any tools or software, including AI, but you will be asked to list out all tools and software you used at submission

• Your submission should use the Game Asset or Tools category

• If you used AI, you must use the AI Generated tag

Voting Criteria

Theme: Does the asset or tool possess at least one characteristic that matches the theme?

Creativity: Is the asset or tool creative? Does it have some sense of originality?

Craftsmanship: Is the asset or tool well-made? Is there a visible level of skill and quality?

Practicality: How well can the asset or tool be used in a project without further modification? (Intentional config options don’t count as modification)

License: Is the asset or tool licensed so that others can use it? How clear and permissive is it? How robust is it?

Discipline Bonus: Was the asset or tool created using a discipline that is different from your own? This acts as a bonus for more unique disciplines.

Personal Appeal: Does the asset appeal to you or resonate with you? Are there specific things you just really like about it?
