Who Killed HawkZombie??

It's the biggest mystery of 2024.

This one is going to be simple, folks: The Hawk, that cute green mascot of HawkZombie's Twitch channel, has been (or very soon will be) killed! How that happens is up to you.

Is it a game where you have to hunt the Hawk down for sport, like in The Most Dangerous Game?
A gritty noir-themed murder mystery?
Did he just fall down a mountain, and now you have to find the body?

It's your call, folks! The only constant that MUST happen is the Hawk must be killed, murdered, or otherwise dead in your game. This can happen DURING the game as well. Any engine and any genre are allowed, but creativity matters! it's going to be some stiff competition, because this time? The game jam has a prize pool of $200 CAD up for grabs!!

PRIZES

$75 CAD First Place Judge's Pick: The game with the highest judge's score will receive this prize.
$75 CAD First Place People's Choice: The game with the highest score through the public vote will receive this prize.
$50 CAD Best Murder: The game with the best death of the Hawk, as chosen solely by HawkZombie, will receive this.

RULES

  1. The ONLY character/person allowed to be used from HawkZombie's community is, well, HawkZombie. Others (members of his streaming community, mods, family members, other original characters created by Hawk, etc) without express written consent are NOT allowed, and are grounds for disqualification.
  2. Please don't kill IRL HawkZombie off in your game. After careful consideration, I've decided this just feels a little weird and creepy. Only focus on the mascot, please.
  3. Examples of/info about the Hawk and HawkZombie for design purposes, can be found here.
  4. If your game does not use the theme properly, it will be disqualified from winning any prize money. The Hawk. Must. Die.
  5. Your game must be at least five minutes. Games that go over 60 minutes will only be judged/played up to the 60 minute mark by the official judges.
  6. You must only use assets and content that you (or your team) have the legal rights to use. Anything else is grounds for disqualification.
  7. Any game engine is allowed, as well any genre (but horror or mystery is preferred).
  8. Your entry must be twitch appropriate. Any content up to an 'R' rating is allowed. (Violence, gore, some sexual situations, bad language, etc)
  9. You may enter multiple times and as teams, AND you can win multiple prizes. If a team wins a prize, the person who submitted the winning title will be awarded the prize money.
  10. To win the prize money, you MUST have a valid PayPal account. All prize money will be awarded in Canadian funds. If you do NOT have a valid PayPal account, other arrangements might be able to be made, but at the worst, either a proxy can be selected by the winner, or the next runner-up will receive the prize money.
  11. All participants will retain full ownership of their properties, and Hawk reserves the right to use them for promotional materials related to this jam (or future related jams) ONLY.
  12. Winners will be announced LIVE on HawkZombie's twitch channel on March 6th at 7pm MST.

GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!
