This jam is now over. It ran from 2024-06-21 20:00:00 to 2024-06-24 20:00:00. View 51 entries

Welcome to the first ever Wild and Proud jam! This is a collaboration between the Godot Engine and Godot Wild Jam. It's an unranked jam with an opportunity to highlight and promote LGBTQIA+ games made by LGBTQIA+ developers and allies.

While there are no official prizes, Nat (Godot CM) and Kati (GWJ Creator) will be streaming these entries at random on a soon to be announced date!

Still confused or want to hang out? Join us on Discord where we'll have both Godot Wild Jam and Wild and Proud running at the same time! We encourage you to submit to both.

The theme and wildcards will be revealed at the start time of the jam.

Wildcards are an optional limitation to add a unique challenge in addition to the theme. Pick one, none, or all; it’s up to you!

Please include the wildcard(s) in your splash screen (recommended), main menu, in-game, or credits screen to let us know what cards were used. All wildcard images will be available in a Google Drive via the folder path Wildcards ->Wild and Proud

  1. If you are new to Godot, we suggest using version 4 for a stable experience.
  2. This is an exclusive engine jam which means only submissions created using the Godot Engine will be allowed.
  3. Submissions may be removed at the sole discretion of the organizers.
  4. Reusing existing code and assets is allowed to an extent.
    - No re-skinning of games made outside of the jam.
    - A majority of the code and/or assets must be made in the jam's time frame.
    - No AI-generated work. This includes using tools to create assets for your game as well as using AI tools to program your game. Procedural generation (i.e. randomly generated levels or items are allowed).
  5. This is an exclusive jam which means that entries made to both this jam and others will be removed unless otherwise allowed by the organizers. Submissions to Godot Wild Jam are allowed.
  6. Submissions require an export to Windows, Mac, and Linux. Please see under Links below on how to Export your game. Instead of submitting 3 OS versions, an HTML5 export will work. Therefore, you must either export to all 3 operating systems AND/OR upload as HTML5. Submissions not including this will be removed.
  7. We will not tolerate racism, sexism, or any other form of discrimination when it comes to participation in the jam or submissions made.
  8. No new content may be uploaded after the submission deadline (no music, no polish, no tweaks). The only approved changes are GAME BREAKING bug fixes. Please include other bugs (e.g. doesn’t play in full screen, etc.) as information on your entry’s page.
  9. Follow the theme.
  10. Have fun!

When is the jam? June 21st

Do I have to do everything myself? Not at all! If you want to use public domain art/sounds or the like, that's entirely fine. And we encourage jammers to team up, too!

Can I use stuff I've already made? To an extent. The spirit of the jam is that you make something new, not rejig an existing game to fit the criteria.

This is to the Godot Documentation for Exporting Your Project. Otherwise, we won't be able to download and play your game!! The docs are your friend. <3

We believe that accessibility in video games is an important component of creating a great game. Here’s a great article on why accessibility matters. We encourage teams to use the Accessibility Guidelines Basic List and check off features as they develop their game. You can view the full accessibility guidelines here.
