World building challenge - Edition II is our second initiative to nurture the game dev community to support you in building virtual worlds that the player can explore and approach objectives freely. We will support you with the player character assets so you can focus on designing and implementing the explorative elements of the world. This contest is open to any teams who can/are interested to build exploratory virtual worlds/games with a forcing function of a week's time. Come show your best virtual worlds to our community.

Contest Rules 🧑‍⚖️ 
1. We encourage solo or team participation up to 4 members.
2. You will have to work using our shared character asset for your player. However, you can chose to use any marketplace assets or other assets to build your world.
3. NSFW content must be appropriately marked on the itch page.
4. All games should be exported to be executable on a browser (we would need a hosted link to play your game)
5. You should be using source control and all content should be pushed to a public repo (we encourage making the code open source)

Package Details
Please join our discord to get access to our character package.
Each package will contain a base model, maps, and locomotion animations that you can use for your player character.

Engines and Frameworks You are welcome to use any of the following game engines to complete your development. However, we recommend to test for web compatibility with a sample project as you get started.
Unreal | Unity | Godot | GDevelop | Phaser | pygame | Scratch | ThreeJS (You can also pick an engine/framework that is not listed here.)

How to Submit Your Work
You need to submit your work in #contest-submissions with your team name, lead name, publicly hosted game web link, github source link, 1 minute youtube video link. Please refer to the submission format example in #contest-submissions

Participants can join the event and make a submission anytime before the last day of this event. We ask everyone to complete the development and make your submission in #contest-submissions by May 12th 2022 at 11:59 PM ET Winners will be announced on May 16th 2022 at 05:00 PM PT

We will DM the winners directly after the event has concluded and make announcements through Discord, Itch and Twitter as well.
