This is awesome!! I'm surprised at how many upgrades you were able to implement and how balanced the whole game is in general. I really hope that you polish this up after the jam ends.
The only downside for me was the graphics, so I thought I'd offer a few recommendations. I noticed that you are using Godot: look into themes. They're an easy way to change up your buttons and GUI from Godot's default gray style. Regarding the lag, I suggest decreasing the number of drops from the enemies. It looks like they drop up to 5 each, but you could achieve the same thing by making them only drop 1 piece that gives more xp. Also, make the magnetized speed faster than the player because outrunning the drops seemed to cause most of the lag.
Anyways, keep me posted if you ever update this - it's a lot of fun :]
Thank you for this huge feedback. The recommendations are great and we are looking forward to implement them after the jam and polish the game to a final state. We though that it could look nice when we chance the graphics then in a pixel artstyle to give a more retro arcade feeling when you play it. Thanks again for your kind feedback and the linked Video, it will help me in the future ^^
I survive 5:33! Really fun game and it fit the theme well. The down side is that it gets laggy when there are too mush enemy and coin.
Great, we survied 4:19. Thanks for the consturcked feedback. Its nice to hear that you got so far ^^
Quite fun, I love that you can upgrade different weapons! The background could be a bit lighter for better contrast. Nice work!
Thanks for the nice feedback. Yeah the baclground is a little bit scufft, but we happy that you had fun playing it ^^
Well done! I too used vampire survivors as inspiration!
I like that you’re in charge of picking up stuff and selecting powerups while your little buddy does all the shooting. The guns felt impactful and it was fun trying to pick the best combo to start with. Unfortunately, stopping to select a powerup felt like it was keeping me from the action; I’d have liked that to be more active.
Things got a little woozy when driving around too much or picking up one of the magnet sphere things; I think because there’s no background to anchor the movement to.
Thanks for you great feedback. Vampire Survivor is a wonderfull game. It was the first that came us to mind. I admit, the Background was really rushed in the last minutes, but nice to hear that it was fun to play ^^
