Welcome to the first yandere-focused game jam on itch.io! (at least I think this is the first..?)

An entry is to have at least one character who encapsulates the essentials of yandere aesthetic― which is being possessive, obsessive, unstable, insatiable, stop at nothing to get what they want etc.
Check this wikia for a variety of yandere sub types for inspo and for whats allowed.

WHAT KIND OF CONTENT IS NOT ALLOWED?

It is prefereable that you do NOT enter submissions that have..

- Beastiality
- Loli/Shota/CP
- Underage characters
- Stories that contain incest or incestual themes
- Entries which fail to provide content or trigger warnings in the game and the game page

WHAT IS PERMITTED TO BE AN ENTRY?

* Demos
* Full games
* Previous projects that fit the jam's themes
* Old projects that contain old or other people's assets (granted that you have permission to use those assets.)
* 2D games - visual novels, interactive text adventure (e.g. twine), interactive point and click games etc.
* 3D games - board games, card games, games made using 3D engines etc.

ACCESSIBILITY AND ACCOMODATING PLAYERS

Due to the nature of the game jam it is essential that all entries' game page and within the game itself will have a trigger and/or content warning. Here is a resource for using either html or css to enter a warning for your game itch.io page.

Please refer to the table below if you need examples of the difference between trigger and content warnings:

I know you may want to submit games that is specifically intended for a cis, hetero and abled audience. That's okay, but please remember that accessibility isn't that hard as a creator to include, and it will widen your player base even more as an incentive.

There are a lot of accessibility tools availible on itch.io for a variety of game engines, but since I imagine a lot of entries will be using ren'py here are some links for: a pronoun tool by npckc, a tool for captioning images and audio sounds also by npckc, a general accessibility add-on by minute, a custom pronoun system by oneirocritica games, this one is for players, but equally useful- a tool to customise font in ren'py by teatime. Just as a starting point!
