The themes are:

Choose one or go with both. Interpret them any way you want, good luck!

YeegJam is a semi-bi-yearly solo jam hosted by the YG Community Discord server. Participants have a week to design and publish their game in accordance with one (or more) of two themes.

Join our Discord for updates and info!

THEME SELECTION:

Theme selection will operate slightly differently to previous YeegJams. Instead of a single theme, there will be two! As a participant, you will have a choice over which theme you follow (maybe even both!). If you want to have a say in the theme selection, head over to our Discord's #theme-ideas channel.

VOTING:

There is no single "winner" of the jam. Instead, jam participants will vote on three categories:

  • Most stylish
  • Most creative interpretation of the themes
  • Best game feel

Each game can only win one category. If a game places first in multiple categories, the category with the most votes for that game is chosen to be the game's winning category. Due to the unorthodox voting system, the vote will use Google Forms instead of itch.io's voting system. After the vote has concluded, the winners will be manually updated in accordance with the results of the vote.

RULES:

  • Games MUST fit at least one of the themes to qualify.
  • You're going solo! Participants cannot collaborate with others for art/music/programming/etc.
  • Submissions MUST be playable without additional software/setup! This means platforms such as Roblox are off-limits.
  • Participants' games should be their own,
    • NO game templates
    • Libraries and premade assets (music, art, models) ARE allowed, but your game should still be largely your own,
    • In the name of fairness, you can't ask friends, family, or your audience to vote for you. This is a small jam with a reduced emphasis on winning, but please don't take advantage of that to usurp an easy victory!
  • Above all else, stick with the spirit of the jam! Even if your game doesn't explicitly break the rules, bad behavior ruins everyone else's fun.

Submitting a game that breaks these rules may result in your game being excluded from the vote or removed from the jam entirely!
