The Prize:
A brand new unopened Playdate handheld.
The rules
- You must be from North America, Europe, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, or Japan. The host may add or remove countries at any time (depending on shipping costs). Certain people outside the country list may enter after getting permission from the game jam host.
- Must be 18 years old or older. Game jam host might allow certain people under 18 years old with parental permission.
- Countries that the United States has embargoes with are automatically disqualified.
- Solo developers only because the game jam host only has one Playdate. You may get help from other people when it comes to play-testing.
- The game you submit must be a game for the Playdate console. If you do not have a Playdate, you may test your game with the Playdate SDK or use Pulp.
- You may submit only 1 Playdate game and that game must be something you created in October 2023.
- You may sell your game if you choose, but you must provide a free Jam version (free version will be judged)
- No games that promote racism, fascism, or discrimination.
- No adult games, no games with nudity, or sexual content.
- No games that violate US law
- Games can be any genre and theme, but they have to be original and created by you.
- No games written using AI (ChatGPT, Copilot, etc.) That includes no art, sound, or music created using AI software
- No copyright infringement . You may use 3rd party assets or libraries if you have permission from the asset/library creator or if the asset/library license allows it
Terms and conditions
- The game jam host only has one Playdate that they are giving away as a prize to one winner. You must not work in a team as the host has no extra Playdate consoles.
- Countries that the United States has embargoes with are automatically disqualified.
- The host will try to carefully package the prize for the winner, but the host will not be responsible for shipping damage or any issues with the device.
- The game jam host will choose the winner, but will select judges to help choose the winner.
- This game jam is not affiliated with Panic or Teenage Engineering.
Failure to follow the rules and terms and conditions will instantly disqualify you from the game jam.
