Nothing will work; it turns out that with no graphics card, no DirectX! Simple!

Thank you, ilovepizza1234, for your response.

I parroted it back into ChatGPT and followed the AI's interpretation, which was exactly this:

To follow these instructions, you need to create a shortcut to the game's executable file and then modify the shortcut's properties to include the -dx11 parameter. Here's a step-by-step guide:

  1. Locate the Game's Executable File:
    • Navigate to the folder where your game's executable file (.exe) is located. This is usually within the installation directory of the game.
  2. Create a Shortcut:
    • Right-click on the game's executable file.
    • Select "Create shortcut". This will create a new shortcut in the same directory.
  3. Modify the Shortcut's Properties:
    • Right-click on the newly created shortcut.
    • Select "Properties" from the context menu. This will open the shortcut's properties window.
  4. Add the -dx11 Parameter:
    • In the Properties window, go to the "Shortcut" tab.
    • Look for the "Target" field. This field contains the path to the game's executable file, enclosed in quotation marks.
    • Click inside the "Target" field, move your cursor to the end of the line, outside the closing quotation marks.
    • Add a space after the closing quotation mark, then type -dx11.
      • Example: If the "Target" field originally contains "C:\Games\MyGame\game.exe", modify it to "C:\Games\MyGame\game.exe" -dx11.
    • If there is already -dx12 or -d3d12 at the end of the line, delete it and replace it with -dx11.
  5. Apply the Changes:
    • Click "Apply" and then "OK" to close the Properties window.
  6. Run the Game Using the Shortcut:
    • Double-click the shortcut you just modified to start the game with DirectX 11 enabled.

These steps should ensure that the game runs with DirectX 11 instead of any other version of DirectX that might have been previously set.

But umm...

(BTW: I don't have a graphics card and my current DirectX version is "12". 馃槄)

The reason is simple:

No graphics card = No launch

IGNORE ALL TEXT BELOW

EDIT: This link here might be the solution. I will try and follow what they say here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/TheCycleFrontier/comments/vmpdzx/i_cant_launch_the_game...

The step 1 link that was/is best for my situation is:

C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\itch\apps\project-furry-apocalypse\WindowsNoEditor\FurryApocalypse\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Did it work? = no

If the above answer is "yes," ignore all text below and associated replies.

Upon launch:

DX12 is not supported on your system.

Yes, that's true.  Not true, DirectX 12 is the version used by my system. Whether it is supported or not I don't know. 馃槓

Try running without the -dx12 or -d3d12 command line argument.

How do I do this? A different issue persists even after the suggested change. 馃樁

You are my first reply ever! Here is a secret message just for you, Average Noober!

The grey barrels are sometimes indistinguishable from the background, especially when you are focused on the enemies. Maybe colour them pastel blue or something like that. Everything else is perfect!

It's a win-win situation, don't you think? 馃槃

Are humans even a thing in the world of this game?
