Dev Log #2 - Production

The production of our game is going extremely smoothly due to my teammates' competence and efficient communication. I personally have had a rather light workload (which considering how low my productivity has been the past few weeks is probably good for the health of the project, though not great for my teammates). I have had trouble focusing on anything lately, which has made it difficult to work on my parts of the project (the narrative and dialogue surrounding the main character). Thankfully I have a very accommodating team. Noticing my lack of progress, I asked for a straightforward list of every task I needed to do and the quantity of words, general guidelines, etc. for those tasks. One of my teammates obliged, and having the detailed list has really helped me focus on specific tasks and actually achieve those tasks in a timely manner.

In terms of documentation and playtesting, we've been splitting work on those things evenly between team members. This has worked very well, as no team member is swamped with work and everyone is involved in analyzing and responding to the playtest results. For example, I personally was in charge of compiling the results into a visual format and summarizing the findings, and that gave me a good overview of how our game was received and what we should change or add.

It appears that we had a similar input in terms of gathering lighter workloads. It is very nice to know that our teams are so agreeable and capable. It was almost intimidating personally to have a team so capable in carrying work on their shoulders. Splitting the work for the playtest is not a bad idea to ensure everyone knows its contents. My group is personally having one person focus on the playtest documentation so the rest of the members can continue to have the build playtest ready.
