I'm not dead, you guys! Isn't that cool?
Anyway, I have a looooot of thingies to talk about here, since the last devlog I made was in April! That was like... 10 months ago!
So, let's get started with the stuff I have to share with you all!
I'm gonna be very straightforward about this.
Shèngdàn Reunion (the Christmas game I started for NaNoWriMo 2023) isn't coming out this year, either.
After planning out the next several months of my game development... with all the other projects I'm gonna have AND my real-world responsibilities, it's just not possible to make it while also keeping my sanity.
I'm very sorry to those of you who have been excited to finally read Cedrick and Lixue's story. But... it's gonna be at least another year.
But!!! I don't wanna just be a downer about Shèngdàn Reunion! Why not show you some random thingies so that you know I've actually been making stuff for it?
This is concept art I made of Cedrick (left) and Lixue (right) around Christmas time. You can see their dynamic!! As well as their clothes, which was the main reason I made this picture.
This is a snippet of Cedrick monologuing about his earlier years as a bully before the game takes place. I don't know if it'll show up in the game, but I like how much it expresses about Cedrick in not a lot of dialogue.
Also!! I have a couple of the BGMs made for the game! But... I want those to be a surprise!
I'm determined to become an avid music maker!!
Do you remember that very big epic super intense large-scale involved upcoming project of mine???
I still plan on revealing it January 29th, 2025! So... I hope you look forward to it! And... I hope I get enough of it done in time!
Sorry I can't talk much about it at all... I'm trying very hard to keep the gimmick a surprise! I'm also currently in the stage of revising some pretty core aspects, eheheh...

So, a while back, I found out about this thing called the Bara Jam, and, for reasons I am not at liberty to discuss (but actually am), I really wanted to make a game for it!! I waited a long time, eager to make a game with funny-looking dogs...
BUT THEN!!! I found this thing called the SuNoFes Jam, like... a month ago! And I was faced with a tough decision...
"Do I bara or do I generic VN?"
And after much thinking that happened way before writing this, I arrived at a decision!!
YES
Okay, so my actual answer was to make a bara game FOR the SuNoFes Jam! That way, I can do all the thingies I want!
For a couple reasons, I see this as the safest and most fun option. Even if I'll only be officially joining one jam, I'll be getting to do both in spirit! After all, I don't need a bara jam to make a bara game!
Concepts and planning for the game starts today, so you may see stuff like that around! But July 1st is when development officially starts. I hope you look forward to it!!
Lil' Beastman will be seeing you at the SuNoFes 2024 Jam! I'm very excited to talk about my project for it!
Those of you who follow my Twitter shenanigans may be aware that I've been drawing A LOT for... something!
The time for context is soon... but not yet! I'll be talking about that stuff more in a separate announcement.
It's gonna be quite different from my usual ones... Heeheehee!
I've been absent from the game developer life for quite a bit, but that just means I was doing a bunch of super sneaky work!! I'm really excited to feel like I'm being thrust back into the thick of things!
I have so many ideas in my head, so I love when I finally get to share something tangible. Every project I announce, and every game I publish... I get so excited wondering what you all will think!
