Hey everyone! I’m thrilled to introduce you to my latest project, Teacher’s Trap, an immersive adult visual novel set in a world where difficult choices, relationships, and personal struggles drive the story forward. If you enjoy deep narratives, character-driven plots, and a dash of moral complexity, this might just be the game for you!

About Teacher’s Trap:

In Teacher’s Trap, you’ll step into the shoes of Klara, a woman struggling to navigate life’s challenges—both at home and at work. When the pressure of family and finances pushes her into a teaching position at a notorious academy, she finds herself caught in a web of complicated relationships and difficult decisions.

With a unique combination of narrative-driven gameplay, 2D animated scenes, and rich character development, Teacher’s Trap explores themes of love, desperation, and the fine line between right and wrong.

What to Expect in This Proof of Concept Version:

  • Narrative-Driven Intro: The game begins with a narrator—witty, snarky, and with a bit of attitude. He’ll guide you through major moments like the intro, chapter starts, and key transitions. His commentary brings a fresh perspective and sets the tone for the story ahead.
  • Day 0 – Setting the Scene: This version includes Day 0, the introduction to Chapter 1, where you’ll start to see the complexities of Klara’s world. Day 0 also serves as a tutorial of sorts, letting you get familiar with the game’s systems and mechanics while easing you into the unfolding drama.

What’s Coming Next:

This proof of concept is just a taste of what’s to come. The next version will include:

  • Detailed Maps: Fully explorable locations where you’ll interact with a variety of characters.
  • Character-Driven Storylines: Each character has their own motivations, secrets, and dynamics that will deeply influence Klara’s journey.
  • In-Game Phone and Stats: A phone system to track character stats and other essential features, adding another layer of strategy to your choices.
  • Family & School Mechanics: You’ll be balancing your life at home with Erik and Jonas while dealing with the unpredictable students at Oakshaft Academy.

🆕 Version 0.01 Update! 🆕

Hello, everyone! Exciting news—Version 0.01 of Teacher’s Trap is dropping, and it’s packed with fresh content, updated mechanics, and much-needed improvements. Here’s a breakdown of what’s been done since the early alpha V0.0:

📝 New Content & Story Progression

  • Added New Day Sequence: Dive into the next day of the story, which comes with two new animation's
  • New Blackmail Questline Scenes: Progress through two additional scenes in the blackmail storyline.
  • Expanded Story Options: Choose the direction of your character’s journey as she navigates her complex relationships. This version allows for choices that impact future storyline access.

🔍 Gameplay Enhancements

  • World Expansion: The game world is now open for exploration! You can visit the school, interact with students, and access the Office, although story content is limited in these areas for now.
  • Character Schedules Added: Students and other characters are positioned in various locations throughout the day.
  • Phone Feature Update: The in-game phone now includes a fully functional notepad walkthrough, where you can track quest progress and see hints on what to do next. This feature is designed for convenience, offering quest hints with just two clicks. Also the phone comes with a skeleton Gallery, which includes some images for you to enjoy.

    🛠 Quality of Life Improvements

    • Grammatical Corrections: General grammar and typo fixes throughout the script.
    • New Fonts for Improved Readability: After feedback that the previous font was hard to read, I tested out a new font. It should be easier on the eyes—let me know if it helps!
    • Map Improvements: Players can now revisit locations without triggering the same entry animation repeatedly, making navigation quicker and smoother.

    🏡 Interactive Locations & Schedules

  • Home (Day/Night): The home environment now dynamically changes based on the time of day. Erik and Jonas follow realistic schedules—whether they’re at work, school, or at home varies with the in-game clock.
  • School (Day/Night): Students are available at various locations in the school based on the time. The school is open only during certain hours.
  • Office: Now accessible to explore, even though story scenes aren’t yet included.

📈 Character & Stat Systems

  • Relationship Variable Added: Players can adjust the relationship dynamic between Klara and Jonas, adding more customization to their interactions.
  • Character Stats: Basic stats have been added for characters, which players can check via the phone’s contact list once unlocked in the story.

⚙️ Technical & UI Updates

  • Enhanced Walkthrough System: Streamlined quest tracking via the phone’s notepad. It provides clear instructions on how to trigger each event, guiding you through the story without spoilers.
  • Minor Bug Fixes & Stability Improvements: Addressed early feedback issues and squashed some pesky bugs to make your experience as smooth as possible.
