The Duck Pond #2

Hello Everybuggy,

Where was my new blog last weekend? Haha you silly pants, I didn't have a last weekend. Yeah residency sucks like that sometimes. Next month is supposed to be my lighter schedule so planning to finish up all the remaining writing and editing for IoDM in one fell swoop. Looks like StrawberryTF will be sneaking a little inclusion into the project as well, since everyone loved her cow TF illustration in To Change. Otherwise no huge news.

TTRPGs: Haven't had as much time to read new games as I'd like. Friend of the show Eva informed me her latest TTRPG is out now, Spine of Eternity. I want to take a look at that later but I trust her enough to plug it for you now. Otherwise I tried reading a new game about bugs that was hot on the itch front page for a while, you know the one. Disappointment. I propose the Little Human Problem of TTRPG design: when a game has you play as bugs in a magical little world, you're just playing as little humans in the recreated human world. Playing as bugs should be alien and different, yet too many games see insects as thinking and acting exactly the same as people as soon as they gain sentience. Its boring and uncreative. The only plus side is it makes me want to add more onto Cuticorium in the future. That's all folks.
