One year ago, your gym leader title was revoked and you were forced into an early retirement. But when a new opportunity brings you to the Hallio region, you’ll find yourself enveloped in a region-spanning conspiracy.

Just like in any mainline game, you’ll catch Pokemon and battle gym leaders, but you’ll also ask questions, team up with characters, and investigate the history of the region to figure out Hallio’s biggest secret: Who is the Beast?

I’m … not sure whether I need to describe Pokémon at this point, but just in case …

Pokémon is a lot like any other RPG: you travel around the map pursuing a largely linear plot, running into random encounters. In those encounters, you choose your character’s action from a menu, inflicting violence or various other effects on your opponent, trying to run them out of hit points before they run you out of hit points.

In Pokémon games, however, you don’t do any fighting yourself; instead, you capture monsters using single-use devices to add them to your party. Only one Pokémon fights at once, but you can swap between them as you need to. One of a Pokémon’s most important traits is its element; two Pokémon with different elements interact in various ways.

In this homage/parody/fangame, you play a a grown adult (as opposed to the usual ten-year-old), unemployed, your Pokémon gone. You’re going to have to fight your way up the ranks from scratch if you want to reclaim your job and your reputation.
