So we've heard a lot about the girls who've ended up in the Black Hole so far, but what about the Black Hole itself?

Well, as previously mentioned, the Black Hole takes sections of Blackhold University piecemeal and makes distorted copies of them to make its floors. Some of these are straightforward locations, such as Floor 3, The Library...

...While others, such as Floor 5, The Swimming Pools, are strange places that take a single concept and make it into a whole area.

Still, even if the Black Hole is nigh-unknowable and non-Euclidean, everything inside it is real and tangible. Unfortunately for you, this extends to the enemies you'll be facing!

All the various enemies of the Black Hole fall into one of four categories. Some abilities and items may affect one type but not the others - for example, the first category, Droids, will be vulnerable to machine-disrupting items because that's what they are - automated machines that patrol the layers of the Black Hole and taking down intruders. But who made them...?

However, if you try and use those same anti-electronic means on the second category, Ghouls, then you will be sorely disappointed.

Ghouls are mindless shells of girls who shamble through the halls, hoping in vain to find a source of life mana... well, in vain until you come along, that is. Like Zombies in Odyssey of Gianna, they aren't actually dead - just soulless and mindless, a warm body running on autopilot.

The third category are also creatures seeking out Eve and company's own warm bodies - they are the Shadows, beings seemingly made of pure darkness.

Unlike Droids and Ghouls, who you can theoretically punch until you win (though I wouldn't recommend it), Shadows are non-corporeal menaces that physical attacks pass right through. You'll need some form of Black Hole magic to deal with them or else they might try and make those warm bodies their new homes...
