Devlog Umbranomicon: Global tasks 🔥

Hello everyone! 💕

This is our first devlog where I’ll talk about the technical side of the project and the problems we face during development. And also talk about a couple new features that will come out in the future updates 😉

Global tasks
We’ve received a lot of messages about players not being able to start certain girls’ stories. This problem happened to the majority of players after we implemented a story dependencies system. This means that stories need to be completed in a certain order determined by the scriptwriter 📝
To help players navigate the plot lines better, we’ve made a global task system. In the next update, we will add a new UI element - the Tasks window
You’ll see all active tasks for every girl that you’ve met, and by completing simple tasks you’ll be able to move forward in the enticing storyline. These tasks also contain additional info about the game world and MC’s personal thoughts 🤓

Updated tutorial
The second biggest problem we’re working on right now is updating the tutorial. We think that the current one is too complex and gives the player too much information in a short span of time. In the next two to three updates we want to change it and divide it into a couple stages to let you explore the world and try out the mechanics you’ve learned about 💪

Updates to locations
Now all gnome-infested locations have actual gnomes visible on the background, and the more you defeat them - the cleaner the location becomes. In the future we also want to add an indication at the start of a new wave of gnomes: as soon as one gnome disappears from the background - a new wave starts.

Bugfixes
We try our best to fix all bugs that we encounter when testing, but it’s not always enough, so if you encounter one in your playthrough - don’t be shy and report them to our Discord server. But please provide us with all the info you can so that we can reproduce the bug and fix it 🧐

Conclusion
We hope you liked my first devlog, I’ll be back in two weeks to share more technical info. See you 😉
