If you don't mind me asking, what polishing specifically would you consider I implement?
I think movement could be twisted a bit so rotation feels more organic, I would use mouse for aiming since it is a bit hard to aim enemies while moving.
For obstacles I would try a sprite that shows better when you are touching the hitbox.
