I really like the tone and aesthetic for this game. I wish there are some visual indication of how much power I am building up in my turn though. Neat game, if you were thinking of expanding this, try adding some verity on attacks and enemy attacks.
Hello! I'll be playing Heroes' Paper Theater today on stream along with several other games from the 2 Buttons Jam at 3:30pm EST. I'll be talking about any interesting design decisions as I play, and suggesting improvements if any come to mind. Please feel free to join me live, it'll be extra fun to chat together about your game while playing it :)
Hello ! I don't think I'll be available at this time (it'll be night for me). All you have to know about Heroes' Paper Theater is that I did a simple button mashing game, but I think it lacks of feedbacks to be fully understandable (like the number of keys pressed by the player, the number of keys pressed needed to beat the monster, etc.) , and i also think the gameplay is too simple. I take too much time on the art, so it looks good, but I think it lacks something to be fun to play.
The graphics are very cartoony which I love and appreciate. However, I agree with Azzedin. The gameplay could use some work and polishing. One way to do this is to add a bar that fills up as we mash the left and right keys. As of right now, doing that provides no feedback and isn't very satisfying to do.
With all that said, good job on the release, nonetheless! :)
Thanks for your feedbacks ! I wanted to have a counter that display the number of keys pressed, but I thought that it would take too much place on the screen.

yep, I think I spent too much time on the art, and the gameplay isn't as interesting as I thought it could have been
