the idea is fun. However, there is a problem that there really isn't much strategy and not much I could do to win. The upgrades part was nice, but I after a few turns, I started to lose consistently

The person I was playing against upgraded rock to 7 on turn 3, so I tried really hard to win. Ended up having to disconnect my router to not lose that one. Will be playing this again!

Really nice twist with the upgrades, but it does become unbalanced if you lose more than two times against your opponent since they can level up the same item and have it automatically win against any item, which allows them to do the same for the other two options. Maybe instead have the upgrades on a turn based where both players can upgrade at the same time? Allows each player to play a counter to their upgrades.

But still solid idea.

I wasn't sure how to fix that balance problem without expanding the scope beyond what I could do in the time limit, but that would have been a good idea for a simple implementation! Thanks for the input.
